About Lilyput
I have always been an animal lover, and have had pet cats since I was a young child. I discovered the wonderful Tonkinese breed in 2005, and have been hooked ever since! I worked as a nurse on a paediatric ward for 15 years, but was forced to retire due to ill health. While I miss my work, this has given me the time to devote to my Tonkinese, with the hope that I can help to spread the love of these amazing cats. My aim is to occasionally breed a litter of kittens in a responsible manner, raising happy and healthy Tonks.
I registered under the name Lilyput with the GCCF as a tribute to my mom whose maiden name was Gulliver. The story passed down through the family is that one of her ancestors provided the name of the eponymous hero of “Gulliver’s Travels” by Jonathan Swift when the author saw the name on a gravestone. In the book, Gulliver visits a land called Lilliput. I deliberately spelled my prefix differently in order to reflect the name of my first breeding queen, Lily.
I live with my husband and cats in Ibstock in Leicestershire. We are easily reached from Junction 21 of the M1 and Junctions 11 to 13 of the M42. Our Tonks are always pleased to welcome visitors! Please contact me if you have any comments or questions.
